Fender Custom Shop '59 Strat NOS Birdseye (John Cruz) 2001

You're looking an unusual instrument:  2001 and in Dead Mint Condition.  Knocking on Vintage.

I bought this from a collector who just looked at it.  I've put a few hours on it.  That's the total playing time on this beauty.  The soft V neck carve and the tone of this '59 are so similar to my MasterBuilt Clapton Strat that I've decided not to keep both.  I've had the Clapton for a few years and the '59 needs to go while it's still Mint.

Zero wear on the Vintage 6190 frets. They measure .084" wide X .039" tall. 7.25" fretboard radius. Weight is 8.0 lbs.

The Birdseye on the neck is absolutely gorgeous.  Smiles every time I look at it.  The color scheme on this thing is very, very tasteful.  Light tint on the highly figured neck plays well with the soft white body and matching headstock.  The tortoise pickguard makes it all pop.  A real pleasure to photograph.

John Cruz had a hand in this '59 reissue.  Given the materials and appearance of this instrument, I suspected he might have.  Confirmed by the "JC" stamp on the neck.  Cruz became a MasterBuilder in 2003. 

Certificate of Authenticity and case candy included. No hang tags. The bag containing polishing cloth, instrument cable, etc. remains sealed and unopened.

I requested the Shop Floor Traveler from Fender. They responded: "This is pulling up as a custom instrument made in 2001. Unfortunately, we do not have a floor traveler or any other available specs for this model as it is an older custom-built instrument."
