Formerly owned and recorded with by Dave Sabo of Skid Row. This 1968 Plexiglass was bought from a recording studio in Toronto (Rose Room Music) who acquired it directly from Dave.
I purchased this over the summer and upon receiving it brought it to world renowned amp builder Andy Fuchs. Andy put in new filter caps and tubes and gave the amp a thorough going over. It is in very good condition and has been taken care of through the years. The late Ken Fisher of Trainwreck fame used to maintain these amps for Dave and Ken’s signature is on the chassis as well. It is a loud amp. I suggest using an attenuator with it or having a place where you can crank the hell out of because it does the “plexi thing” like nothing out there except another plexi. There is a rawness and character that new amps just don’t have.
This is the Holy Grail. People talk about amps sounding great but they all compare them to the early plexis. The serial number is about 80 away from Eddie Van Halen’s main amp and this is THE SAME model with the lay down transformer.
Please do not ask what is my lowest price of I am willing to trade I am not interested in answering either question. If it does not sell for what I am asking I will gladly keep the amp and tuck it away in a corner than give it away.
This is a local pickup only. I’m 35 minutes from Philadelphia and 70 minutes away from NYC. I will not ship but you are more than welcome to make arrangements with a shipping company, but that is out of my hands.
