About This Listing

Here's a rare 1960's era Gibson RB-800 5-String Banjo.....Owned by Raymond Fairchild. Raymond is a legendary Bluegrass player who passed away in 2019. He signed the inside "Raymond Fairchild, Opry House Maggie Valley N.C, July 29, 1995." Really nice original example with no breaks, cracks, repairs. Top of the line Gibson banjo that features a beautiful flamed maple neck and back, Ebony fingerboard with inlays, 22 frets, 1 3/16" nut, and a Mastertone violin shaped ornate headstock. The neck is straight, and the truss rod functions properly. Plays and sounds fantastic!! This beauty is ready to go. OHSC!
