About This Listing

This is a vintage Old Kraftsman "A" Style mandolin from the '40s. Probably made by Kay in Chicago, and sold in the Spiegel Catalog. It's solid spruce and maple, with "grained" hardwood fingerboard and rosewood bridge. All original with a few replaced tuner parts. 14" scale with a very deep 3.5" body (see pic next to my Eastman). Good condition with typical wear and tear, but no cracks or other issues. Sounds great and plays easily with .090" action at the 12th fret. Newer composite hard case.
Please review the photos carefully as they are the best description of the instrument. Contact me with any questions or comments. Thanks for looking.
