The “Mississippi Hot Neck”

Up for sale is a completely upgraded Fender Player Telecaster. We have another brand new 2022 Alder body in Tide Pool. I chose a brand new one piece flame maple neck and fretboard from Havok.

The craftsmanship on these necks are absolutely beautiful. This one sports a 25.5” scale length, 22 medium jumbo Jescar Stainless Steel Frets, 9.5” radius, with an unbleached buffalo bone nut and chrome HipShot Open Geared Locking Tuners. Ive installed a Gotoh “In Tune” bridge with compensated brass saddles to aid in the tuning stability, and I have to say this fella is rock solid.

Then under the hood i’ve upgraded the electronics with parts all coming from 920D, including a 3way switch and 4 prong jack for an extra solid connection.

The pick ups are what makes this guy sing a different tune than your normal Mexican Telecaster. I have flipped where you would normally find the heat in traditional tele set up. In the neck I went with a Seymour Duncan “Hot Neck” pick up. This is Alnico V high output, over wound, wax potted, midrange biting beast delivers strong full chords while single notes make their presence known with an impressive yet articulate tone.
For the bridge I decided to go in the opposite direction. The Seymour Duncan Alnico 2 Pro is in the Bruce Baner to the Hot Neck’s Incredible Hulk. This moderate output bridge pickup gives you warmer sweeter tone with plenty of sustain. I personally love the rounder more cushiony low end sound this pickup delivers. The cleans are exactly what you want for your tele, and when working together with the neck in the middle position, you have a beautifully well rounded tone that’s clean and polite but doesn’t take any crap.

This is just another Telecaster option from us that you won’t be able to find in Fender’s Player line of Tele’s. This guitar is ALL Telecaster. The “Mississippi Hot Neck” is a custom built guitar put together in a deliberate fashion. If you are looking for a Tele that stands out from the rest, that still offers high end quality components, this is the one!

My instruments receive a full setup, with a deep body/neck cleaning and polish. All gloss maple boards are polished, while all rosewood/darker boards receive an F1 & lemon oil treatment. I make sure all electronics are in working order and if something under the hood needs to be changed, I make that determination based upon what type/year guitar im working on. But either way I am upfront in my listing. Guitars are set up with D’Addario XL 9-42’s. Action is checked, and adjusted to Low-Med if necessary, and tuning and intonation is set on all instruments before I pack them to be shipped.

It always made me feel good when i pulled a guitar out of a box and basically only had to tune it up to pitch and away you go, so I try to afford you the buyer, of that same courtesy. Understand though set ups are a truly personal thing. I cannot guarantee everything but I try to use the bell curve when it comes to setting up instruments, so even if there is something you wanted changed it is not a big ordeal.
