For sale is an awesome, custom made electric guitar modeled after Jeff Buckley’s famed Fender Telecaster from the 80s. This guitar was designed, outfitted and built with as many characteristics of the original as could be achieved, with the most premium parts possible. This is a hand-made one of a kind electric guitar which plays very well and sounds sick. Please read the whole description! Thanks.

PICKUPS

The pickups are a Seymour Duncan Rail Pickup in the bridge position, with a Fender USA neck pickup. JB’s had the very same pickup in the bridge position, and a stock Fender Neck Single coil, very similar to this one.

The wiring harness is beautifully hand wired and features premium parts including CTS pots, a 3-way switch, and a push-pull mechanism on the volume pot, allowing you to split the bridge humbucker for more tonal variety.

BODY/NECK

The neck is wonderful. Maple, satin finish, 21 frets. Has a great feel and has received a full fret level, crown and polish. Plays extremely well. 9.5” radius, skunk stripe, bone nut, medium jumbo frets, all good stuff. Made in Japan.

The body is a factory-finished Telecaster body, in a pale yellow, pastel, cream, butterscotch, vintage white, not sure what color to call it but it looks very similar to the real thing! My builds often use recycled bodies, this being a factory reject so it has a bit of inconsistency that is quite difficult to photograph, you might notice it through the years but it’s just more to love in my eyes 😍

HARDWARE

This guitar plays nice and stays reliably in tune by way of the Hipshot Staggered + Locking Tuners. They have been installed with the Easy Mount System. Nice, thinner shaped Fender butterfly string trees as well.

The bridge on this guitar was made by a company called Buzz Weiten, purchased from their remaining inventory. It is a Top Load (top loader) bridge with 6 individual saddles so you can get the guitar bang-on in tune. The bridge also gives a uniquely snappy tone, by way of the Top Load bridge design, which decreases string length and adds a bit more pep in the response.

Apparently in the 80s, toploader bridges were standard on Fender Telecasters, which is why JB’s has one, in this very similar style of having the saddles lean on each other, 3 to the right and 3 to the left.

The pickguard is a reflective mirror guard made by a company called Kaish, which has been intentionally worn to maintain the look. BUT I purchased two of these pickguards and did the relic’ing only on one. The other is still fresh in packaging and can be added to the guitar if you choose! Word to the wise, the mirror is very hard to maintain cleanliness on, which is why I’ve left it sealed. You’ve been warned! ;)

The string trees and neck plate are Fender, and this guitar features even the correct “Top Hat” switch tip, and the Flat-Top chrome knobs, just to really round out all the specs that I feel give JB’s that special look. :)

SETUP

As previously mentioned, this guitar has received a fret level, crown and polish, and a simple setup. It plays with low action and has a snappy, clear tone. If you desire a specific setup style, I encourage you to get this guitar set up to your liking by a professional!

Also note: the SLOPE logo on the headstock is a water slide decal, but it has not been sprayed over with any kind of finish, so if you would like to remove it, you’d simply need to pick at it and peel it off, it will not leave any kind of residue. If you do like it, simply leave it as is! It will not come off unless forced.
