About This Listing

Randy Wood -Early and Rare F5 mandolin.  I'm selling my very early ('72-'75) Randy Wood F body mandolin. I'm unable play any more so it needs a new owner. Original finish with some road wear but no structural damage to body or neck. It was re-fretted and gone over by Randy Wood in 2017 and never played since.I have the receipt along with an appraisal from RW. It sounds amazing as one would expect from a 50 year old RW instrument; with great tone, balance and chop due in part to the 1-3/8" deep sides which was how he built them in the early years. There is time honored wear on this vintage mandolin. Finish checking, finish wear, scratches and a few nicks but it still looks amazing. Please view pictures carefully. The last 3 pictures show in more detail the wear on the top. Very nice original vintage hard shell case included. This is as much a rare collectible instrument as it is a terrific player. Ask questions and email me if interested for more pictures and information. Serious offers considered by serious parties only please.

I really prefer any serious buyer to come by and look/play this instrument; or have someone in the area do that for them. I do not want to get into a condition disagreement after the fact and deal with a return because it's not as expected. It is what it is.

Will consider trade + $ involving either Martin 00 or 000 series or Gibson L-00 or a Gibson Les Paul flame top; all in new or excellent used condition.
