About This Listing

Unfinished 2 Piece Limba Telecaster Body Spalted Figured Flame Maple Top 4lbs 14oz Very Unique!

Note: The body pictured is the one you will receive!

This is a good DIY body for a one of a kind custom Tele! The Flame Maple top on this one is very unique. Not only does it have a lot of flame, but it has some spalting and figuring going on. Its almost on the verge of some quilting. With the P-90 neck pickup route it will make a very nice custom Telecaster!

Note: This body will require final sanding before finishing!

Note: In the first 3 pictures I wiped down the body with naphtha to show what the body will look like with a clear finish.

Korina (Black & White Limba)

The “true” name for korina is limba. Korina comes from Africa and is roughly similar to ash in weight. It has this weird waxy feel to it as well, but you won’t be able to tell with a gloss or satin finish on it!

I should mention that white and black korina come from the same tree, and have the same tonal qualities. The only difference between white and black korina is that white korina comes from the sap of the tree, while black korina is the heart.

Korina/Limba is has a very warm tone to it; think mahogany but with a clearer mid range! This wood is popular for semi hollows, often used in exotic boutique metal-oriented guitars and first came to popularity on some classic Gibson Explorers. Limba/Korina is known as "The Mother Of All Tone Woods"!  The Limba is a warm, resonant and balanced wood. It also produces great clarity, definition and sustain. As an anecdote, some of the most popular guitars in history are made of this wood, a very hard and stable wood.
