Very fine 8 string Weissenborn-style acoustic lap steel by Canadian luthier Neil Russell of Celtic Cross. Engelman spruce top, Yellow Sirus back and sides, Wenge bindings fret board and bridge, 25" Scale with custom Cedar Creek case. I added a Pete Biltoft Vintage Vibe humbucker in the sound hole and LR Baggs under saddle pickup for the acoustic sound. They have separate jacks so you can use one or the other or combine them via different sources such as a DI and amp. The Vintage Vibe pickup is superb and cost $200. new as a custom job since it's difficult to find a proper sound hole pickup for an 8 string (I spent A LOT of time on this). The Baggs is nice because unlike other piezo pickups it's a longer filament and covers the whole saddle length and gives great string coverage.
There are a few marks and indentations in the top as I used it a lot over the last year but nothing too heinous. Just a few dings and one spot of finish checking near where top bout meets the fret board. There's some glue residue run off on the sides of the fret board but that's how it came new. I've tried to highlight these flaws carefully in my pictures with bright, natural light.
Comes with a custom hard case that is VERY solid (I put duct tape over my name and phone number for privacy. You can cut this out or tape over it, etc. with your own info). A great deal for the discerning player who wants more than the typical 6 string laps or is used to pedal steel. Sounds terrific BTW. Neil really nailed that aspect. Better than every 6 string Weissenborn I've played and I've played a few.
I'm only selling because I just ordered a 10 string version (yeah, I know I'm crazy!) and I need to help pay for it.
A great deal with the pickups and quality of this axe. Please feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for looking!
