About This Listing

This neat little instrument is great fun to play and has a nice loud ringing sound. It is built in the style of our tin banjos, but instead of a tin can resonator this one features a small all-wood cigar box! The neck is made from nice hardwood and is fretted in a diatonic (dulcimer) style, which makes it fun and easy to play. Technically this could be called a diddleybow, but you can call it a one-string cigar box guitar if you want. It is fretted on a 20-inch scale, which helps keep the neck shorter and makes it easier to move up and down the fretboard to find the note you need.

We call this one the "Red Biddy" because of the color of the cigar box. Also check out its twin sibling, the Little Boy Blue!

This little gitty would be great for young and old alike. We even include a little "player's pack" with a spare string, a couple of picks and a little "how to play" guide that has a few simple tunes in it that you can pick out to get you started.

This instrument was hand-made in the USA in the C. B. Gitty workshops.
