Vintage Sony TC-355 Reel-To-Reel Tape Recorder, Solid State Three Head Recording Gear, AS IS

This is the classic and now somewhat rare Sony TC-355 Stereo Solid State Reel-To-Reel Tape Recorder. Made in Japan, I believe this is from the 1960s, but do let me know if you know for sure. It comes with its original cover and box and is encased in Walnut wood.

It's serial number is #68657

With cover the recorder measures: 15 1/2" wide x 6 1/8" height x 14" depth.
The recorder weighs a hefty 24lbs!!

THE RECORDER DOES NOT POWER UP, so I'm selling it "as is' and as NOT WORKING. it may be something as simple as a fuse to fix or something more. But that being said, I'm not sure of the functionality of the rest of it, however, the switches and knobs to turn / click ok.

And of course, just as it is... this is a rare and beautiful mantel, shelf, mancave or retro table ornament that will be the talk of whatever setting it finds itself in.
