Really cool Japanese 1977 Yamaha SG1500 in Cherry Sunburst. First of all what I love about these were they were SG's with Les Paul type heft. This guitar weighs 10.4 pounds which, while should feel crazy heavy, it doesn't, it is very well balanced and solid!

It is a really beautiful guitar. Set neck and the center strip of the 3 piece neck runs the full length of the body. Nice and elegant Cherry Sunburst finish on the solid maple cap. Plain with cool graining elements including some 3 dimensional birdseye notes in the center of the top.

The original pickguard was removed (I don't have it) and the holes from the pickguard are there. There is one main on the back near the carved out contour. One small ding where the outer rim of the switch cover would be. Other than that only the most minor of scratching. Really great shape overall for a 45 year old guitar. Soak in the pics as they are all of the actual guitar you will happily unpack.

The pickups were replaced with the gold covered EMG's that are now in place. This guitar sounds incredible. I don't know the whereabouts of the original pickups.

Perfectly and freshly set up. Action perfect, low and straight, all up and down the beautiful ebony board. Medium C carved neck has just the perfect amount of chunk.

Listing includes the pictured and functional original Yamaha Japan hard shell case (has one missing latch but works as intended).
