About This Listing
Up for sale is a stunningly beautiful late 70s Lado Double Neck Zebra in excellent condition and perfect working order. This was just gone through and given a pro set up so it plays amazingly with straight necks, low action and the original DiMarzio pickups sound killer!
Cosmetically, this instrument is insanely clean and has been well taken care of over the years. And that’s really an understatement. It just hasn’t been played. We just acquired this from a collector and it’s been sitting in the case for decades, only to be brought out periodically for maintenance and to be admired. See pics for condition and please excuse any reflections.
The craftsmanship on this thing is bonkers. The zebra wood and curly maple look and sound exceptional! J.K. Lado was often thought of as the B.C. Rich of Canada. The comparison certainly makes sense but the quality on this piece is definitely a cut above any vintage B.C. Rich we’ve come across. And that’s saying a lot because we’ve had some killer ones come through the shop.
To the best of our knowledge, this instrument is all original with the exception of the 12 string bridge and all of the electronics function as intended. Both of the truss rod covers have the initials “P.T.” lightly engraved. Rumor has it that only 6 of these were made. This is #3. Comes with a non-original hard case. The guitar weighs 13.8lbs. The 6-string nut width is 1.675” and the 12-string nut width is 1.665”. The neck thickness is on the 6-string is .795” at the 1st fret and .870” at the 12th fret. The 12-string neck thickness is .820” at the 1st fret and .880” at the 12th fret. Reasonable offers will be considered so don’t be shy.
