The S series' graceful 3-D shape is mahogany specifically chosen for the S Series instruments. Light enough to amaze in terms of comfort, heavy enough to provide the tone and sustain that the S series is known for. The SIX20 even sports one of Ibanez's cutting-edge 3-piece Maple/ Bubinga Nitro Wizard necks, for greater speed and stability than ever.

Ebony fingerboard features quick response and great articulation with today’s down tuning. This Iron Gear is equipped with combo of American built Alex Avedissian of Avedissian pickups (a one-man operation). He handwinds his pickups and of these on this Ibanez he has commented directly that, “The bridge is wound around 9k and uses an alnico 4 paired with small ceramics. The pickup sounds huge and stays crisp and keeps dynamics when digging in. Being a lower output it won't slam your amp. The alnico 4 is in between a 2 and 5 and is very balanced and full sounding EQ wise. The neck is alnico 2 wound around 7.5k and has plenty of warm punch."

They're meant to not compress pedals, so they are ideal for people who run pedals, especially chains of them.
