1984 Black Knight Custom Ebony FB, Super Tune Vibrola Super-Rare Gibson Model, 1984 Only Upgraded PUPs, w/Hardshell Case Width 1 11/16th" (43.4mm), Weight: 8 Lbs., 5 Oz.
Here is something that Gibson only made in 1984, and in such small numbers that it never even made it onto any pricelist or catalog. Basically it is a Norlin "Idea Guitar" to take a bolt-on Les Paul body (like the GK-55) and add a contour bevel, a Super Tune Vibrola, and a Corvus-style headstock to the neck, with an ebony fingerboard!! These are surprisingly cool guitars, and have the great 1980s Gibson wide neck profile, and the added bonus of the Gibson Super Tune Vibrola, which adds girth to the tone, even when not using the whammy.
This is a Player's Guitar in fair condition, with some chipping of the paint in several places. Also, the tip of the headstock has some kind of repair/overspray at the pointy end of the headstock tip. The neck PUP is a Gibson 490 series, and the bridge PUP is the Rio Grand high-output Crunchbox. It has no issues, and plays and sounds great.
