The Altec Valencia 846a are some of the most legendary vintage loudspeakers, using the same components as famous A7 "Voice of the Theatre" system, yet loaded in a designer cabinet. This particular pair were originally purchased with the optional center console, making them exceptionally rare and magnificent. We've replaced the fretwork grills, with a pitch black, acoustically transparent backing cloth, and completely refinished all of the cabinetry. The equipment cabinet originally had cutouts for a specific tuner, integrated and turntable. We've created a new blank, stained and finished to match the cabinet, so the new owner can perfectly fit their components for a perfect, bespoke look. Without question, a once in a lifetime find.

LINER NOTES
"Introducing the Altec Valencia 846a. See the glory of Spain, hear the glory of the world's finest speaker systems! Their carved fretwork façades tell of a courtyard, ambuscadoes and Spanish blades. A fiery tale augmented in lustrous grain of hand-rubbed walnut. Behind the fretwork, the same playback speaker components that have made Altec the standard of the nation's broadcast and recording studios for 35 years. The Altec 846a will accommodate any room requirement, from the grand hall of a mansion to the limited space of an apartment." -Altec, 1966
