Dave's Guitars Charlotte is proud to offer yet another high-quality Japanese guitar—this time, we've got a gorgeous 3 Color Sunburst (YSO in Tokai code) Strat copy that appears to be a US export model given its non-traditional headstock design; this design was implemented from 1985-onwards.
This guitar plays fantastic and exhibits no issues. Good, low action and great tone! Non-original trem bar and possibly original case, but I've no way of knowing for certain. It looks like a previous owner installed two extra string trees at one point.
I must admit that in all my time dealing with Japanese guitars, I am stumped with this one. Other than its medium "U" or "D" neck profile, it seems like more of a '50s reissue than a '60s. Re: no slab board. But, we have to go off of catalogs and forum posts as a last resort, so I'm thinking it's either an AST56 or -62. But...what's the "V" for in the control cavity?! V neck profile? It certainly doesn't have one? Who knows. Spin the wheel and let the MIJ gods decide your fate!
Being picky, its cosmetic condition is 7.5/10–yes, there are are scratches, dings, and signs of usage over the past several decades. This is a used guitar.
