The Symetrix 564E is a truly professional piece of gear. Four channels of frequency-sensitive gating/expansion, each comprising controls for: attack and release time, threshold, hold, key filters and, unusually, a continous control for the transition from hard gating to 1:3 expansion. Connections are via XLR-type connectors on balanced line level. The unit is extremely well-built inside, with quality components and wiring.
