This is a highly sought after Sony cassette deck, but this one’s seen better days. It’s got plenty of perfectly good parts and can be used as a donor or may be worth repairing, but will require a bit of attention. The last time I plugged it in, the liquid crystal meter and digital “automatic music sensor” display did light up and the motor ran. The counter also worked. I made an attempt to repair it, but didn’t have much luck. I’m not familiar with this model and it’s an intricate machine, so I got lost, but I’m sure most of its parts are good. I would highly recommend having another one to complete a build, but I quickly realized that I’m not the guy for the job! The face is in great condition, as is the deck assembly. The LCD meter is also in great condition and was never tampered with.
