Inspired by the Fender Custom Shop’s 30th anniversary, the annual Prestige Collection of guitars on display at the 2017 Winter NAMM show represents the peerless craftsmanship, artistry and detail that elevated the Custom Shop to worldwide acclaim. Yuriy Shishkov’s Gold Leaf Telecaster is “different from anything I’ve done in the past,” he insists. Inspired by early Custom Shop art guitars that spawned new materials and finishes, such as gold leaf, in guitar production–Yuriy set off to make another one-of-a-kind creation. In true Yuriy Shishkov fashion, the Telecaster is full of originality with unique features that have never been done before, such as double-bound binding with a Gold Leaf “finish” and a Gold Leafed neck – a first for a Telecaster.

We know that if you want a better Fender you go for an American.  The next step up is the Fender Custom Shop.  Want one better go for a Masterbuilt Fender.  Still not satisfied we go for a special creation masterbuild built for display and auction at the annual NAMM show.  Now, Fender is offering the ultimate Masterbuilt, the "Prestige Collection"built for display at the NAMM show. We know of the existence of no more than a dozen Fender masterbuilts that carry the Prestige label.  Three were built by Fender's most sought after ornate master-builder Yuriy Shishkov. There's a diamond strat that sold for $1,000,000, a jeweled strat offered for sale at $850,000 and our 24K Gold Leaf 30th anniversary telecaster priced at $49,999.  At this price, while it seems pricey, we'd expect an investor to sell it someday for a $100,000, if not more.

We're offering the one and only 24 Karat Gold Leaf Triple X Fender Custom Shop Prestige Collection Masterbuilt NOS Telecaster created by Yuriy Shishkov for the 2017 NAMM show. This glorious piece of craftsmanship is something you may never see again. It is a one-of-a-kind gold leaf telecaster (well-suited for rock, country or blues) which will leave you with your jaw dropped and your eyes wide open each time you open the case. This guitar was constructed with an alder wood body and finished in a stunning urethane gold leaf finish.  Likewise, the neck and head-stock are also finished in this amazing 24K Gold leaf. The body is wrapped in a tortoise shell binding offsetting the gold and giving it a sharp edge to offset the wonderful gold leaf finish. The tortoise shell binding was carried all the way up the neck to the tail giving it a unified look which will amaze each and every time. The guitar was created to mark the 30th Anniversary of the Fender Custom Shop. To indicate this, there is a XXX inlay at the 12th fret mark as well as an XXX engraving on the neck plate. The neck is made from quarter-sawn maple and also has the same beautiful gold leaf treatment  with a 1-ply tortoise shell binding similar to the bound body. The neck is a large C-shape and holds an ebony fret-board with a 9.5" radius with medium jumbo frets. The guitar features a bad-ass TV Jones Powertron neck pickup, and a Texas Special bridge pickup; chrome vintage-style tuners to top it all off.

Sure you can find dozens of run of the mill gold leaf strats, but we dare you to find a 24K Gold leaf Triple XXX 30th Anniversary Prestige Masterbuilt tele, let alone any gold leaf tele.

We understand that this is a guitar that may not suit the budget of all buyers. However, please consider that Prestige Masterbuilt NAMM guitars are the ultimate built specifically for the show they are sold at and are one-of-a-kind ornate instruments. With the incredible attention to detail this guitar maintains, we are confident that it will only increase in value. Yuriy guitars can range into the hundreds of thousands of dollars and we believe that our asking price is within the range commensurate with the build quality this guitar presents.  We know it's pricey; all the NAMM guitars are pricey due to their unique / special appointments as well the high demand to purchase these guitars at NAMM.  Luckily we are able to win and obtain more than most and thus we can offer them to our good customers.

From handcrafting many of his own woodworking tools to showcasing his world-class luthier skills and custom inlay work, Yuriy Shishkov is truly one of the last of the renaissance guitar builders. It was in the small confines of a root cellar in his hometown of Gomel in the former Soviet Union that Shishkov got his start building guitars for friends and colleagues.

When he arrived in the United States in 1990, Shishkov settled in the Chicago area and collaborated with a range of top artists, including late shredder Dimebag Darrell of Pantera, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin, Nuno Bettencourt, Robin Zander of Cheap Trick and Paul Stanley of Kiss. Shishkov joined the Fender Custom Shop’s Master Builder team in 2000 and has crafted truly magnificent instruments featuring exquisite detail and inlay work.

The guitar comes shipped in the original OHSC, with all case candy and two certificates; one from the Masterbuilder and the second for the NAMM show it was created for and sold at.
