At Ron’s Gear Garage we probably sell more Kohno guitars than anyone in North America. Why? Because they are an amazing value and a sound investment… and this guitar is a shining example of both! This 1971 Cedar top / Rosewood model is a great sounding guitar that has stood the test of time! The neck is excellent on it (ebony reinforced), so are the frets and the general condition considering it is over a half century old! Kohno used expert craftsmanship and top quality woods so that 50 years later his instruments would continue to inspire players.
The guitar is all solid wood and this would have sold for 100,000 Japanese Yen in 1971, not cheap! The pictures tell the story of the condition, there is a ding in the top, a few light scratches, a 3” stable and tight crack in the back that appears to be untouched and I chose to leave it that way because it looks very tight and doesn’t flex at all. Saddle looks good. Overall very good condition!
