About This Listing

Fantastic restoration of a no-name, lawsuit era SG.
The plywood body was covered with a nice mahogany veneer. And the humbuckers were really single coils.
The problem with this guitar was the heart wrenching decision to upgrade’er - or not. She was (and is) really comfortable and lightweight. The fake humbuckers? They sounded freaking awesome! There was a makeshift wraparound bridge that actually worked and the tuners and bridge were functional.
I’m a re-doer though. Furniture, dogs and for the last almost 15 years, guitars. So… we sanded, stained and lacquered the body, shaving a bit extra on the inside of the lower bout and heal for upper fret access.

We threw a maple veneer on the solid, but beat-up headstock… and tossed in a new Graph Tech Resomax bridge. You’ll notice the bridge sits on a nice piece of flamed maple. While it is beautiful, I admit it’s not the nicest woodwork/install in the county - solid and stable as all get out though. Intonation is solid (easy to accurately adjust too). This guitar stays in tune - very important to us here.

We kept the bridge pickup in there for heritage sake AND, as mentioned, it’s a terrific sounding PU! The neck pickup is a Gibson BurstBucker (we aged the cover). The combo of the two is both unique and fantastic.

We also used Graph Tech for their Tusc XL nuts. It works great with the new Gotoh tuners.

She has a 1 pc. mahogany neck and what looks like a rosewood board. Frets are full ‘n strong.

The photos show that this guitar’s polish isn’t anything for a showroom, but I’ll dust ‘er off before she leaves for your place.
Her polish is really in her playability and performance. She’s really quite something special. The tones coming out of $2000.00 axes are only arguably better. Seriously.

My luthier re-wired ‘er and did a pro set up on her with Ernie Ball 10-46’s. We’ll ship her in a hard shell case too!

Listed shipping costs are just guesses…

Thx for looking & God bless.
