The Blackstar St James EL34 50w valve head - a super light weight amp with no compromise on tone or performance. It delivers classic low gain tones thanks to its EL34 design, and features a selection of appointments that are sure to please the modern day guitarist.

The St James EL34 head is powered by 2 x ECC83, 2 x EL34 valves, and features a vintage style Fawn finish.

It has a 2-channel setup. Channel 1 inspired by classic American amps of the mid 60s. Very clean and bright, but with a solid low-end and controlled mids. Channel 2 takes you into the tonal qualities of a much-loved British Class A amp of the early 60s. It delivers low to medium drive tones, great on its own, but sure to appeal to those wanting a great pedal platform. The valve power stage is set as open-loop, which has a looser feel with a resonant bottom end and lively highs. Additional versatility comes via the Boost kicking in an extra 10dB of clean boost. 

Each channel shares the EQ controls, but thanks to the internal separate EQ circuits there is no compromise in tone thanks to the dual-ganged potentiometers.

Thanks to its Power Reduction, the amps will work for stage, studio and home -  select 50 watts, 2 watts or SAG to get the perfect balance of power.

At the rear of the amp you have access to a selection of welcome pro connectivity with USB audio for pro-recording, an XLR DI output (both using the built in inductive load). You also have access to Cab Rig, Blackstar's next generation DSP speaker simulator that reproduces the sound and feel of a mic'd up guitar cab in incredible detail (with access to over 250 options via the free Architect software).
