About This Listing

Two (2) brand new Crank Sturgeon brand Classic Contact Microphones.

The Classic Contact Mic is variation of our original flagship contact microphone. It features a sturdy 3.5 centimeter piezo, which is mounted to black standard-issue guitar cable and terminated with a 1/4 inch guitar plug, mono or TRS 3.5mm (aka 1/8") plug, or XLR plug. The Noir edition has extra reenforcement around the piezo element and an even longer cable (5 feet, nose to tail). We've also added a layer of heat shrink to the piezo element, providing protection without sacrificing tone.
The Classic Noir is a plug-and-play device. Simply plugging it into a guitar amp or recorder can reveal a myriad of sounds from the most unlikely sources: kitchen utensils, chainmail armor, esophageal noises, acoustic instruments, wood flooring, bicycle spokes, ventilator systems, door hinges, and of course, cat purrs. It also sounds fabulous with FX and processing, and is a splendid go-to microphone for recording ambient audio ecologies as well as a burly buddy for bombastic noise performances.

Amplify everything!!

Input styles and variations are listed below. Keep in mind that the TRS option is basically "double mono", and not true stereo.
