Seymour Duncan Nazgûl and Sentient Guitar Pickup Set
Created for total sonic obliteration, the Nazgul starts where most passive high output pickups stop. The large ceramic magnet serves up aggressive tones for brutal, drop-tuned, chugging riffs, while the mid-range is specifically voiced to bring out the definition from the B & F# strings. Fear not, though, for all of the gain and ruthless attack you're going to use, the notes will still remain fluid and articulate.
The Sentient is voiced to capture a blend of vintage PAF and modern tones with enough output to deliver harmonically rich distorted lead tones but subtle enough to give you deep, detailed cleans. Think of it as combining the best qualities of the '59 Model and the Jazz: clarity, detail, depth, attack and expression. It's the perfect neck pickup for natural, complex warmth and tight articulation. It's the natural companion to the Nazgul.
Seymour Duncan Summary
Forged to fathom the deepest of metal tunings, the Nazgûl and Sentient Set’s searing highs, grinding mids and tight bass define modern metal.
Seymour Duncan Description
Take your guitar to the center of the earth with the Nazgûl and Sentient Set.
The Nazgûl combines a large ceramic magnet with custom winding specs. The result is a perfect blend of note articulation, saturation, pick attack, and one of the most brutal “chugs” you’ll ever hear from a humbucker. It has incredible harmonic content across all frequency ranges, and an insanely tight bass response. The Nazgûl has a seriously aggressive high gain sound that is lively, yet completely controllable.
The Sentient neck delivers a balanced, versatile tone that fits right between the ’59 model and the Jazz neck pickup. You’ll get pristine cleans, and fluid leads under high gain. The Sentient is a very articulate vintage output pickup with great dynamic response and a wide harmonic range. It works great for low tunings in all humbucker-equipped guitars.
Hand built in our Santa Barbara, CA factory, the Nazgûl and Sentient both use a large ceramic and alnico 5 bar magnets, nickel silver bottom plate, 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options, and are vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance.
- DC Resistance: 16.7 K
- Ceramic Magnet
- 4 Conductor Shielded Cable
