He might be a bit scruffy looking...but he’s been my loyal companion for many years.
A vintage handmade body that is not dated or branded, but shows the proper signs of 30+ years of aging. So cute! Looks like someone’s grandmother made this guy c.1980’s. One of a kind! A few years back I had this puppy vetted at New York Guitar Repair & fitted with a 1985 squire Katana neck I had waiting around for the right project. Perfect fit & vibe. Certain vintage squires have wonderful necks..this is one of em! Silky smooth, & a very comfy short scale. It’s a joy to play. Frets are in extremely good shape, barely any wear if any. Neck is straight as an arrow, buttery & it’s truss rod works beautifully.
This Dog has a barking tone! Literally.. it’s on the treble-y side having just a sole bridge pickup. Super jangly & punchy. Perfect for slacker rock, blues, etc. Single coil pickup sounds nice - 1 knob for volume.. Aged to a nice creamy color but I’m not sure if it’s branding.
* In need of a some slight tlc… A proper setup & a quick electronics clean up will do the trick. The volume pot is a tiny bit fuzzy & lose, & the bridge saddles need some proper screws as they had kinda janky replacements. Otherwise it is good to go! Very minor.
