Classic 1986 Ibanez Roadstar II Series RG650
Rare Polar White!
Serial# A862166
Made in Japan (Terada)
Comes With a New Padded Gig Bag

This Ultra Rad RG650 is any headbangers dream guitar if they are in search of an instrument that is visually cool and sonically versatile at an affordable price... It is a part of the the legendary RoadStar II series from Ibanez, which is famous for its remarkably sounding and well-built instruments. Cosmetically she is in great shape (no breaks, repairs or mods) for her age and only shows a little honest play-wear including small dings, dents and surface scratches that only add to the mojo and give you peace of mind that you can rock out worry free. We replaced the missing string retainers on the tremelo. Overall she is clean and professionally dialed in/set up for optimal tone and playability. It has a fast c profile neck that is a little chunkier than super thin modern RG necks and feels great wether playing rhythm or lead. The pickups and extremely versatile and responsive and allow for any genre of music to flow freely and sonically pleasing. They deliver a balanced attack with plenty of power when driven and they clean up extremely well allowing for the resonance and warmth to really shine.

The RG650 is a Roadstar II series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1986. The Roadstar II series would eventually become known as the RG series.

Despite the RG name, the RG650 has the rounded-edge body style and swoopy, rounded headstock of the older Roadstar II. It has a tone chamber routed out of the body beneath the pickguard.

The RG650 features a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include Ibanez pickups with an IBZ humbucker with Duo-Sound coil-tap functionality at the bridge and Super 7F single-coils in the neck and middle positions and an Edge double locking tremolo bridge.

The RG650 was offered only in Japan and was discontinued after 1986.

History of the Roadstar Series II:

The Ibanez Roadstar II Series was introduced in 1986 - replacing the Roadster Series (introduced in 1979) which had similar Stratocaster and Superstrat style designs and the same RS name designation. From 1983 to 1987 the line was divided into Roadstar II Standard and Roadstar II Deluxe models - with the Deluxe models having better hardware, finishes or figured wood. The first RG series guitars were initially released under the Roadstar name before becoming the RG Series in their own right. In 1987 the Ibanez Pro Line series was replaced by the Roadstar Pro series, with a range of new designs including Sabre and Radius type models. Ibanez discontinued the Roadstar name in their catalogs in 1991, and instead used the "RG" "R" and "S" designations.
