2006 Fender Japan 1957 Stratocaster Reissue ST57 - Black - Made In Japan
USA DiMarzio Collection
Bridge Pickup
SN#: S093061

In the world of electric guitars there are instruments that are considered iconic and legendary. These guitars exemplify the essence of what players look for in a true player instrument. One of the first instruments that comes to mind is "Blackie",  the fabled Stratocaster that is certainly one of those true icons.  This Fender ST57 vintage reissue Stratocaster has a cool and deep vibe that really resonates with us. The contoured lightweight body is finished in a classic black and is loaded with original, hot Fender Japan ceramic pickups in the neck and middle positions, and a smoking DiMarzio DP423W Injector pickup in the bridge. We plugged this guitar up to our vintage Deluxe Reverb and were excited about what we heard. The neck is super playable with a comfortable oval profile that measures 0.879" at the 1st fret and 0.952" as we reach the 12th fret. The neck is straight and true and is topped with 21 frets, executed with vintage gauge fret wire. The guitar has just been given the seal of approval by our tech and has been freshly strung with 10-46 gauge strings and is set up for optimal playability. In a world of iconic guitars this is one that holds its own to make a timeless, indelible impression.

Condition: This guitar has some scattered playwear marks that are typical on instruments that are just too much fun to put down. There are some dings, dents, scuffs and scratches, but overall it remains in very good cosmetic contain with big chips or gouges.

It has just been professionally set up and dialed in for optimal playability and tone. It has low action with no buzzing or dead spots and is an absolute joy to play. It has been deep cleaned and detailed. All guitars will arrive looking and playing great. The frets have been dressed/polished and the fingerboard was cleaned. (Unfinished Rosewood and Ebony boards get treated with Fret Doctor - a proprietary all natural oil that is the best on the market) It was professionally set up and has brand new strings, the action was adjusted, the intonation is spot on and it plays excellent. All the electronics work flawlessly.

Neck is perfectly straight and the truss rod works with no issues

Intonation is spot-on

It has been professionally set up with nice low action & new American made strings.

If needed, the frets will be dressed leveled & crowned

All frets are polished prior to shipping when they are set up - They will shine like new!

A demo video will be recorded prior to shipping.

Product Overview
The first era of Fender Japan began in 1982, when domestic market Japanese Fenders started rolling out of factories. While Fender Japan is popularly known for some of their more extravagant aesthetics, the bulk of domestic Japanese production was focused on reissues of historic American Fender models. These reissue models were labeled by a two letter/two number model code for the model and reissue year, followed by a suffix that indicated the price in Yen, and any unique specifications the model had. While a given model might come in a variety of price points during a given model year, from entry level to the near Custom Shop quality of Fender Japan's ExTrad series, all the models would broadly follow the aesthetic and technical specifications of the original American models. Reissue models would follow this naming convention until 2015, when Fender Japan revamped their product line to more closely mirror the organizational structure of the Mexican and American made Fender lines. Models on this page represent the 1982 - 2015 era of Fender Japan production, and typically feature the old style Fender Japan serial number at the base of the neck, as opposed to the contemporary "JD-" serial number format found on the back of the headstock. The original model codes (and frequently the value suffix) can usually be found in the neck pocket of the body, and at the base of the neck where the mounting holes are.
