About This Listing

I bought this 6 years ago and has hung on the wall ever since. Here is the sellers description from when I bought it

In very nice condition, light home use only while I've owned it, never gigged or even been out of the house!

Some wear, a few dings and a few marks, plus some buckle rash on the back of the body, but really nothing major as far as I can see.

Through-neck design, 24 frets, with a pair of cream humbucker pickups.

Gorgeous carved body, and a good, substantial weight (think Les Paul rather than Telecaster...)

One tuner has been changed at some point (prior to my ownership), but not immediately noticeable (I didn't spot it until I'd had the guitar for several days - I must have been too busy playing it and looking at the finish / through neck, electrics etc!)

Active boost switch powered by a 9v battery

Rotary controls from front to rear of the guitar are: Master Volume, Master Tone, Boost circuit volume.

A very rare guitar in the UK (and probably Europe or the rest of the world, for that matter) made, I understand, under licence from the renowned acoustic guitar maker and master luthier Bozo Podunavac (who sadly died in June 2016). Try and find another, in any condition, anywhere!

Another ebayer sent me the following info:
"I've owned one of these for many years and remember them arriving in England back in 1979 when my best mate bought the bass version. There were 12 imported (6 of each) I believe there was a dispute over the terms of the licence and that there was a court order issued for them to be impounded in Hamburg and destroyed but they were spirited away to Liverpool (as many things were back in the day) where they were bought and sold by Curly Music in Whitechapel. I actually remember the owner unpacking and putting displaying in the shop window. He sold them in 2 days.

They are actually a Vantage VP 795 "The Ghost," itself a copy of an Alembic. They are clearly of Matsumoko construction being very similar to the Westones of the 80's that followed. There are rare this is only the third one I remember seeing in the last 36 years. A shop in Staffs had one for sale for £1400 about 10 years ago. Ace guitars. I'd love to know what happend to my mate Johnny who bought the bass back in 1979."
