You are looking at a 1978 Gibson RD Artist bass guitar in
Natural finish, all original except toggle switch caps, which have been
replaced with identical new caps. Original hard-shell case will be included as
well. This bass is in very good condition. There is some buckle rash on the
back and two small screw holes left where the previous owner attached a thumb
rest (now removed). The neck is straight and the action is set low, which
allows for a very enjoyable playing experience. The neck is worn to the perfect extent, and is very comfortable
to play. The frets are excellent and the truss rod is fully functioning. The
original Moog circuitry and pots all function perfectly. The dual Gibson
Humbucker pickups both function perfectly. Custom designed by Bob Moog, this
bass features active electronics with built in compression/expansion,
bright/neutral modes, a three way pickup selector, and is active with no
passive mode.
At 34 1/2 inch scale, this bass weighs in at 11
lbs. Made at the Kalamazoo Plant, USA on August 10, 1978. Production number
122. Serial number 72228122.
This bass is a blast to play and has five deuces in the serial number!
