Extremely rare and sought-after predecessor model of the later Joe Satriani Signature. The Power was only built for two years from 1987 to 1989 - and was also used by Mr. Satriani during that time.
Here is one of the first models of this series - still labeled "Roadstar Series".
Made in FujiGen Gakki, Nagano, Japan, year of manufacture: March, 1987.
Ergonomically shaped body made of alder - in contrast to the basswood otherwise preferred by Ibanez. One of the reasons why the Power is so sought after among Ibanez fans.
Extremely flat, fast Ibanez Wizard neck made of maple with rosewood fingerboard and 22 jumbo frets.
Stable tuning is provided by Ibanez Smooth Tuners (Gotoh) and the proven Floyd Rose Licensed Edge Tremolo.
Equipped with IBZ USA (DiMarzio) pickups in HSS arrangement. The three pickups are each selectable by miniswitch. And the humbucker can also be split by push-pot.
Even more than its prominent successor, the Power is so washed with all waters and extremely versatile. It is definitely not only at home in the metal field, can also strum wonderfully and is extremely vibrant and resonant.
Comes in the 80's Ibanez guitar case as pictured.
The guitar has been played often and with pleasure, which you can see - see pictures. There are various scuffs and scratches all around, but of course no structural damage or repairs. The hardware is partially bare from extensive use (e.g. the volume pot). The freshly polished frets, on the other hand, are still in excellent condition with only minimal signs of play.
