Vintage 1950's Turner 9X crystal microphone Satin Chrome w period Astatic stand display

             Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

 You are looking at a very nice 1950's era Turner P9X model microphone with a crystal element and all metal housing with satin chrome finish. The riveted Turner badge shows it's early age and it comes with the period Astatic desk stand shown in which to display this mic.

 Pic # 2 shows an old Turner advertisement showing the 9 series mic and it's basic charcteristics.

 The Turner 9X and 9D were identical except that the 9x was a crystal equipped model while the 9D was a dynamic version.

 This 9D 9X were both ideal for general broadcasting purposes but it should be noted that this microphone has a weak working original element. It's only about 30% signal strength so it should not be used for a live event. It should be used for display, prop or repair purposes only.

 It has a very cool deco vibe to it and will fit into any 1940's / 50 environment.

 The 9X came with The On / Off switch. The satin chrome on this mic looks very nice with just very tiny pitting. Zero deep scratches, dents or fractures. The original black cloth is free of any fading, rips or holes. This mic will screw on to any American desk or floor stand as well with it's universal mic stand threading though a stand is provided.

 The Turner badge is worn but still legible and well secured. Mic is solid with zero loose parts inside or out. The original element is still inside but again, weak.

 I would give a this mic a very conservative 8 on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking.

 The stand is actually a period Astatic model. It's an all metal design with gorgeous grey paint that compliments the mic nicely. The stand has almost no wear. The stand itself is 7 1/2 inches tall X 5 1/2 inches wide. It's a very stable platform for this mic and has the 3 new felt pads to keep it from scratching any surface it rests on.

 Total height with mic and stand is appx 12 inches tall.
