This is sort of the dream situation.... you have what I think is the best playing and sounding production acoustic guitar there is.... the Guild F 50 Jumbo from 1973.

This one has what seems to be an amazing back, sides and one of my favorite necks of all time.  The block inlays and binding are stunning.  The arched back is beautiful and the sides are as well.

But for sure it's going to need a lot of top work done if not just a new top, new bridge, likely new frets, buttons and probably a few other things.  I have the saddle and truss rod cover.  And I have an amazing Guild Jumbo top from the Carlo Greco era that will come with the deal.  I actually have 3 of them and you can choose.  You'd just have to get a luthier to assemble.

But everything else looks pretty amazing.  So you could create your dream guitar.  Then you'd have 50 year old wood that's basically brand new with a neck and new perfect frets that you dream about.

So for a relatively nominal amount of money comparatively, you'll have one of the best sounding and playing acoustic guitars in the world.
