1992 Starfield America Cabriolet American Standard SSS Sail Blue

This is an incredibly rare and nearly impossible to find SSS (single-single-single pickup configuration) model that was endorsed by Richie Kotzen, designed by Mike Lipe, and built by the Ibanez Los Angeles Custom Shop (LACS).  If you look at the figuring on the maple board, you can see that it's really an upscale build.  MADE IN U.S.A. is stamped on the back of the headstock.  Starfield America has an interesting history, as it was a shortlived attempt by the Ibanez USA custom shop to build a more traditional Strat/Tele type guitar in the early 90s.  If you look at the back of the headstock, you'll see that there is also a Fujigen serial number; necks were made in Japan and shipped to Los Angeles where the guitar bodies were painted and the guitars assembled.  Master luthier Mike Lipe still makes this guitar body style, after all he was the one who designed the body,  as the "Lipe Twisted Soldato".  The neck pickup is not-original and is very Strat-y.   The Seymour-Duncan pickups in the bridge and middle position are original.  The Wilkinson trem unit is original.  Ships in STARFIELD Hardshell case, which has this cool texture like tough synthetic alligator skin (see pics).
