Up for sale is this vintage 1997 Fender Precision Bass Special (California Series) bass guitar. A very cool model from 1990's Fender USA sporting an anodized pickguard, a dazzling Candy Apple Red finish, and a PJ pickup set up, what more can you really ask for?This instrument is all original and is in very nice condition for its age. The original finish shows some wear including some small nicks, dings, and scuffs, but nothing major at all. There is some light chipping of the finish at the very end of the skunk-stripe (very, very common in this era and purely cosmetic) that can be lightly felt while playing. The original hardware is the same, very nice condition but showing some light wear and pitting here and there. This one was clearly very lovingly played over the years. Overall, it's not perfect, but it's very nicely preserved.It has just been gone over by our tech who polished the frets, oiled the fretboard, cleaned it up, sprayed out the electronics, and performed a little light set up work. It plays great with comfortable, low action all the way up the neck. If you're heavy-handed, you might want to adjust a bit to avoid buzz but there's plenty of room to meet your preferences. The original frets show some light wear but still retain most of their life. All of the electronics work as they should and it's a very versatile, great sounding instrument.A period 1990's red label Fender plastic-molded hardshell case is included. The case is in nice condition for its age, but does show wear. Three of the feet have busted on the bottom, a common issue with these cases, but all of the latches and hinges are present and working as they should.
