American made in Bend, Oregon with Engelmann spruce top, which originates in western North America. Engelmann spruce is a silky pale spruce, similar in color to European spruce. It responds best to a light touch and light strings. The tone profile has a warm bass response with great projection. Its extreme lightness in weight produces a more open, “ringier” sound than Sitka spruce. Tonally, it falls between European spruce and cedar and requires less playing time to open up than European spruce. Engelmann spruce is very light in color and is known for its consistent coloring and tight grain patterns.
The Breedlove Pinless Bridge helps maintain the integrity of the top by eliminating the need for six drilled string holes. The fewer holes in your soundboard, the more evenly the sound wave can move across the interior, without any loss of energy.
