Vintage 1972 Takamine F-340 "Lawsuit" Acoustic Guitar!
Made In Japan! Based on a Martin D-18.
This is really Cool. You are looking at a Vintage 1972 Takamine F-340 "Lawsuit" Acoustic Guitar. From the golden age of Japanese Guitar building in the early 1970's. Also known as “Lawsuit” Takamine's, these had the square headstock logo and font that looked like a famous guitar made somewhere in Pennsylvania, (Martin). Takamine served notice to American manufacturers that they were ready to compete. Never actually a formal lawsuit. Takamine and other Japanese guitar builders had to alter their design. Basically, Takamine made a very good copy of the Martin D-18 which is what this guitar is based on. Even the Headstock, logo and all internal structuring is a copy of the D-18.
Laminate construction, spruce top, mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, rosewood adjustable-saddle bridge, medium-jumbo frets and open gear-style tuners.
These are fun to play acoustic that sound very good for a laminate top guitar.
Affordable Japanese Vintage!
Great for fans of “lawsuit” era Japanese guitars.
Our luthier did a complete setup. Brand new strings were installed. Gig ready on Arrival!
Nut Width: 1.69"
Complete Package with Hard Shell Case with Yellow Felt Interior Included!
Due to CITES Treaty for Endangered Wood (Mahogany, Rosewood) We no longer ship out of the USA.
Cosmetics: Good Condition. Keep in mind that this is a 50 year old vintage guitar that has been played. There are some light strumming scratches on the pickguard. About a dozen small indentations on the Top. The Back has some marks from being held next to the player's body. The sides have some scuffs and scratches. Neck, Fingerboard and Headstock are in great shape. Case has some scuffs, stains, scratches and tears in the tolex. All latches work. Interior is in fine shape. Overall, a really nice guitar. Dripping with "Mojo" It is used not perfect. Look at the pictures closely. They will tell the story.
