1991 Orville By Gibson J200
Super Jumbo Acoustic Guitar
Made in Japan, Terada factory
Sunburst Finish, Maple Neck
K&K Pure Mini Pickup, w/Gator Hardshell Case
Original Warranty Registration Card
Here is something that you don't see very often -- an Orville By Gibson J200 Super Jumbo, w/pickup, made by Terada MIJ in 1991. This was the top of the line acoustic offering by OBG, which is the High-End line from Orville Guitars / Gibson Japan. The quality of materials and workmanship was of extremely high quality, and this guitar does indeed rival the Gibson J200 in both looks and sound, and still costs $1k less.
Cosmetically, there are some nicks and scratches, but overall the guitar is in good condition and plays great, and sounds fantastic, with the recognizable Gibson sound: warm tone, very even response from high to low, crispy attach, percussive strumming, and still quite beautiful to look at.
The guitar has a pickup installed -- I'm not sure if it is original OEM or not -- but it is a K&K Pure Mini passive, with 3x small round soundboard transducers installed right in front of the bridge plate. All in all, a rare, collectable guitar that is a player's dream -- yet still less $ than even a lower-level Gibson jumbo.
Please check our OTHER LISTINGS for more unusual guitars, as well as Pro Audio gear, Ameritage Guitar cases -- and we are the world's leading manufacturer of 10-String Classical Harp guitars, with over 500 guitars sold during the last 10-years. Thanks for looking!!!
