Our 5E3 CLASSIC TWEED DELUXE is based upon the original Fender, Model 5E3 TWEED DELUXE from 1955. This is one of Fender's most famous amp designs! 

The Tweed Deluxe started in 1947 with five tubes and an output of approximately 10 watts. The '47 version and was considered the top model in Fender's single speaker line amplifier. In 1955 the Deluxe was changed to two inputs per channel, with one tone control. The 12AY7 input was changed to a self-biasing tube. Equally important, the phase inverter (driver) was changed to a cathodyne phase inverter (driving the output tube) and output was now raised to 20-watts with a duet of matched JJ-6V6's.

The FireBelly Tweed Deluxe, 1955 Classic is the ultimate mid wattage tone machine.   We have increased the power supply filtering to virtually eliminate hum and tighten up the bass by using top quality F&T German filter caps. We are also using a JJ-GZ34/5AR4 rectifier tube to bring the plate voltage up just a tad.  This increases usable clean headroom on the 5E3.  As a Cathode-Biased amp, this Deluxe is extremely finger responsive and operates in a similar fashion as Self-Biased, Class-A amplifiers.  We use a "period correct" Jensen C12Q speaker. This model is a milestone amplifier that was the basis of the Tremolux model, the first amp from Fender with on-board effects.

The FireBelly '55 Tweed Deluxe is hand built using a glass epoxy board with each component hand soldered one component at a time. Filtering is accomplished with F&T German electrolytic capacitors. The tone caps are SOZO "BLUE ASTRON" reissued period correct coupling capacitors. The component board is raised above the chassis to eliminate vibration and allow air flow to surround the components. (Please see pictures above of our first production amps!)

Cabinet is finger jointed plywood for added strength!  (No MDF or particle board).  This amp produces usable clean headroom and compresses at very reasonable volume levels. As with all FireBelly amplifiers the classic '55 Tweed Deluxe is Dripping with Tone!

NOTE:  We need 72 hours to burn-in your amp prior to shipping.

The Burn-In process assures that all components and tubes are stabilized and that there is no drift in bias on the output tubes.  This is one of our guarantees that our amps perform as stated.

All Amps carry a ONE YEAR warranty including speakers.  Jensen only warrants their speakers for 90 Days.  We have extended that warranty to ONE YEAR as well.
