1960’s Unbranded Sekova Mentor 12 String Guitar Variant Redburst Hockey Stick Headstock Electric XII MIJ Japan Rare / VIDEO

Very cool Fender XII style hockey stick headstock on this vintage Japanese 12 string electric. Guitar scale length is 23 1/2” from string nut to bridge.

Guitar is in good shape overall and guitar has been cleaned and a fresh set of strings was just installed. Each pickup has an ON / OFF switch. There’s a universal volume and tone control and an R/S Rhythm / Solo switch. Electronics all work although the tone control doesn’t seem to do anything when the Rhythm / Solo switch is set to SOLO. All electronics have been spray cleaned but sometimes can be staticky or need an extra click to engage. Could possibly use a little extra TLC or cleaning.

High e string was missing tuner post and gear but I had one in my parts drawer that fit. Missing 1 small screw on back of tuner strip but everything works fine. A few of the ferrules were missing as well but I had some that match up almost perfectly and are installed. I do not have the bridge cover. Frets have some indentations but guitar still plays great. Neck is straight and action is low. String nut could probably be upgraded for better tuning but overall a very cool and playable guitar. Guitar plays great and sounds wonderful.

Rare, vintage model 12 string. Haven’t seen another quite like this but the moore commonly seen (and also quite rare) Sekova Mentor 12 string is the closest match I’ve seen to this. They both share the Redburst finish, Fender Electric XII “hockey stick” headstock, and similar scale and electronics.

No gig bag or case but guitar will be packed safely and shipped quickly.

This is a pre owned guitar that is over 50
Years old and will show some wear commensurate of age and use. I am not the original owner and do not know the past history of this guitar.
