Here's my brand new 2017 Pearl Beauty II guitar! It is a top of the line, handmade, Robert B Desmond "Especial" model. It's been in my private collection since it was completed. I am now finally offering it for sale. The Pearl Beauty II guitar was constructed in memory of my Pearl Beauty 1 guitar, which was sadly destroyed by Hurricane Sandy when it hit my guitar dealers house and flooded it in Long Island many years ago. I decided to build this PB 2 in memory of PB 1. This is a heavy and powerful guitar. Let me tell you a bit more about it: Back and sides are one of a kind Camatillo Rosewood from Mexico. Sides are doubled with Indian rosewood for a total thickness of 4+mm's. The back is slightly thicker than normal as well, thus producing a very strong and heavy soundbox for which the thin top is more productive. The top is German Spruce, and it is GRID braced, my own proprietary design. The neck is Mahogany and the fingerboard is Ebony. The bridge is Brazilian Rosewood. Scale length is 650mm's plus compensation. The rosette is similar to one of Miguel Rodriguez's historic guitars, and the pearls are all hand cut and made by myself, as is all of the Purpleheart/Maple herringbone purflings throughout. The tuning machines are handmade by Robert Rodgers in Nova Scotia. They have Nickel Silver side plates and white Mother of Pearl buttons. The rollers have bushings for smoother operation. This special guitar has a Royal and Aristocratic voice! It's a powerful and loud guitar, but at the same time, extremely musical and alluring. The finish is entirely French polish. I will ship it in a Carbon Fibre case for extra shipping protection. Shipping costs have skyrocketed in recent years.
