About This Listing

If you are looking for that 60's sound and DeArmond tones then this is for you.

We have here a Vintage 1966 Harmony Holiday Bobcat in Redburst in very good to excellent condition, especially for a 55 year old guitar. It features a pair of DeArmond Gold foil pickups and a vibrato tailpiece. The pickguard on the guitar has two small cracks on the ends which have been glued and are stable and are shown in the images. But not to worry because included is an excellent extra White pickguard with no cracks.

We have gone through this guitar and given it a complete Set-up. We have replaced the tuners with Kluson 6 In Line Deluxe Vintage Guitar Tuning with Cream Buttons and the original tuners are included. Also installed are Black Dunlop Straploks with the old strap buttons included. Fret markers have been added for easy visual marking  of fretboard.

And this old vintage beauty rest in a New Garry Black hardshell case.
These Bobcats were not grounded so there is always a bit of noise from them. We decided to solve this problem by installing a ground wire from the body to the ground on the pots. We also painted the cavity with conductive shielding paint and applied shielding foil to the back side of the pickguard. The result is a much clearer sounding Gold foils. Now you can really hear them. Images are included of the process of grounding this guitar.
The pickups and electronics are all original and sound great. The neck is straight and with a comfortable playing action. There may be some light scratches and wear here and there but the finish is nice. This is a player guitar and the tones these DeArmond Gold foil pickups are to die for! Collect a piece of history with this 1966 Harmony Bobcat and enjoy the super warm and dynamic sound of the these coil foil pickups!

And are also big fans of strap locks! Pickguards are also nice since thery do protect the finish!   At the Shack we do tune ups and set-ups but only when requested by customer, ( a $90.00 charge) Unless, at times we feel that a set up would really benefit an instrument then we just do it. Of course every guitar deserves a good set up with new stringsif needed!   At the Shack we keep climate control conditions all year round and the instruments live in a smoke free environment in their cases!  As mentioned before we love cases and strap locks for the safety and protection they offer.  Need we say more!   Pick guards are also nice for protection of the body and when matched up right they can bring out the hidden beauty in an instrument!   We pride ourselves in offering quality working beautiful instruments for sale. We are great communicators and the best packers and shippers. We ship with Reverb protection through UPS mostly. And we do sell and ship to Canada but cannot list the shipping cost till we know your address. Then we can do an estimate of that cost and send you a offer.

We spend the time needed to make sure you are a happy camper/customer. It gives us great joy to know someone is playing and enjoying an instrument we have worked on and owned.

Thanks so much for your interest!
