March 2024 $4,999
This is a custom Gruggett Stradette made and painted for me by, Bill Gruggett. Bill worked for Semie Mosley and Mosrite Guitars in Bakersfield, California from 1962 through 1966, as Foreman. Bill is considered one of the best luthiers in the world. He is up there with Leo Fender and is often mentioned as the guy who made Mosrite. You can read all about Bill online anywhere. I knew him and he was one of the finest human beings too.
Below is the Stradette he put together for me. I asked him to paint it, Margarita Sparkle! Just look at this "Margarita Surfy" Stradette! Bill said he had a left handed one made, but he could convert it and make it a right-hander for me. I said, great! Bill died October 7th, 2016. We all miss him so much.
Bill said in an email to me included, “not many people have a Stradette like yours“. In fact, this was the only one in this custom Margarita Sparkle finish.!
