Using caramelised maple for both neck and board, its carved into a speed profile and has a satin finish for ultimate comfort. The fretboard is where you can express yourself and show off your leading licks and rocking riffs, so Jackson have provided you a surface that aids expansive playing. Crafted in a compound 12”-16” radius format, it’s thinner at the nut for easy chording but flattens out towards the top frets to encourage audacious solos and soaring pitch bends. Hosting 24 jumbo frets and the iconic shark fin inlays, it looks good, and plays better.
Growling humbuckersEquipped with dual Jackson high-output humbuckers, the JS42 wields considerable tonal firepower. Made with ceramic magnets, these pickups are nothing short of volcanic. Perfect for thick, dirty power chords or drop tuned chugging. At the higher registers they’ll voice your lead playing with a scorching squeal with plenty of cut to pierce through a mix. Set into a humbucking format, these pickups are warm, powerful and hit with plenty of force. This rounded tone is also excellent for evoking clean glassy chimes, or lighter bluesy fuzzes if you want to switch up genres. With a three way pickup selector, you have access to multitude of tones, and thanks to these molten-hot humbuckers, you can sure each sound will be massive.
