La base du circuit est un moteur de distorsion à base de transistor FET qui simule le toucher, le ressenti et la réponse d'un ampli à lampe poussé dans ses retranchements. Le circuit permet au musicien d'avoir les dynamiques et le son d'un gros ampli puissant à des volumes faibles ou modérés.

Un seconde fonctionnalité unique de cette pédale est un préampli actif de fréquence médium situé à l'avant du circuit de distorsion à FET. Cette conception unique donne à l'utilisateur une grande variété de possibilités sonores avec n'importe quel ampli ou guitare.

JHS Pedals is proud to announce the release of Paul Gilbert's signature distortion, the PG-14. This is a unique distortion pedal and designed to Paul Gilbert specifications. The basis of the circuit is a FET-based distortion motor that simulates the touch, feel and response of a tube amp pushed to its limits. The circuit allows the musician to have the dynamics and sound of a big powerful amp at low or moderate volumes.

A second unique feature of this pedal is an active mid-frequency preamp located at the front of the FET distortion circuit. This unique design gives the user a wide variety of sonic possibilities with any amp or guitar.
