________________________________

The name "Snappy" means "outlet" (B-grade with a few scratches), and Cat's Eyes used to label and sell guitars that had minor defects (paint spots, scratches, etc.) during the manufacturing process as "SNAPPY" brand. However, it's hard to identify such flaws on a vintage guitar that's been around for more than 40 years, so we can assume that this is a Cat's Eyes guitar. Except for the "Snappy SW-2000" label on the inside of the body, the rest of the body is unmistakably that of the high-end Cat's Eyes CE-2000 made by Tokai Gakki. The "CE-2000" branding on the neck block is also there.

It's an all veneer model with Ezo spruce top and Indian rosewood back/sides. Avalon inlay work and gold glover pegs give it a high-class feel. It's one of those instruments with an old-fashioned appearance that gives it an austere feel.

There is a crack repair on the center seam of the top, and there is a cloudy paint film on the entire side/back of the body and the back of the neck. The string height is about 2.2mm below the 6th string at the 12th fret, about 1.8mm below the 1st string, and the saddle height is about 2mm. Playability is good, and it has a nice dynamic sound that is different from Martin's and typical for Japan. Comes with the original hard case with Tokai Gakki plate.

TOP : Solid Ezo Spruce
BACK/SIDES : Solid Indian Rosewood
