About This Listing

The Auburn is an elegant electric guitar with beautiful tone and fast playability. A tremolo bridge adds extra versatility to the classic double-humbucker archtop solidbody design.

MATERIALS

A Curly Queensland Maple top is the focal point of the guitar. The carved top has an amazing figure that we have never seen in another piece of this timber. The figure gives the impression of deep 3D waves and the two bookmatched halves reflect the light, changing the way the top looks depending on the angle it is viewed at.

The main body and neck are also made from Queensland Maple. The body is made from one piece of timber which is is quartersawn, exceptionally even in colour and grain texture.

An African Ebony fingerboard and headplate with Mother of Pearl logo inlay and hardware plated in Ruthenium create a subtle aesthetic.

The body and neck are lacquered in Nitrocellulose, which is hand polished to a high-gloss for ultimate beauty, durability and tonal quality.

SOUND

The sound is delivered by a pair of humbucker pickups, handwound in our workshop. The range of tones available from the two pickups is diverse and ideal for musical styles from jazz to hard rock.

The bridge pickup is wound slightly hot with an Alnico 5 magnet. It has a full bottom end and rich singing highs. The sound in the bridge position is clean and defined and can be pushed into high sustain and overdrive with beautiful harmonics. It is a very versatile sound ideal for everything from blues to country to hard rock.

The neck pickup is also built with an Alnico 5 magnet, it is wound to give a clean, bright sound perfect for rhythm as well as jazz and rock lead playing. Contrasting to the bridge position, the neck pickup stays clear even when played at high gain, giving a well defined treble response and tight basses.

Queensland Maple is an extraordinary tonewood and the timber in the body and glued in neck adds a resonant, musical quality to the tone and gives the guitar plenty of sustain.

PLAYABILITY

The Auburn is well balanced and sits perfectly as you play it. The body is chambered to reduce weight, making the guitar relatively lightweight.

A classic C-profile neck is very comfortable and fast. The 24 frets have been dressed to perfection, allowing for the lowest possible action.

HARDWARE

The two-point tremolo used is designed by Wilkinson and made by Gotoh Japan. It is machined to precise standards from hardened steel and features locked posts and saddles to ensure maximum sustain and tuning stability.

The tuners are also from Gotoh and feature ‘Magnum Lock’ string locking for tuning stability and faster string changing.

All hardware is plated in Ruthenium (Cosmo), a durable and stylish finish with a colour in-between chrome and black.

CASE

Choose from a deluxe Hiscox flight case or a Mono deluxe semi-rigid gigbag.
