Gods of Decay is a post-grunge/gothic metal band from Tokyo, Japan that was formed in 2018 by a
vocalist from Georgia, Anna, and a Japanese guitarist, Frost. In 2021 the band signed with a
European record label Sliptrick Records releasing their debut full-length album titled “Collective
Psychosis”.
The band’s sound and their first full-length piece can be easily called an international standard
record with its roots going across space and culture.
The band’s guitarist, Frost, is the main composer. He has been influenced a lot by such colossus of
the scene as, for example, Nirvana adding a touch of metal sound to his melodies. When composing
what he focuses on the most are the “beautiful melodies”, the melodicity that is organically
incorporated into the heavier sound. Thus, the output is heavy, dark and beautiful.
Anna has been versed a lot into linguistics and literature and she has been drawing a lot on her
favorite Japanese writer, Yukio Mishima, whom she wrote her master’s thesis on.
