With a lightweight and resonant Basswood body - here topped with Burl Poplar - combined with a Roasted Canadian Maple neck / Rosewood fretboard, the Jet JS-450 gets off to a very good start. This guitar really has looks to die for, with a rich gloss Transparent Brown finish allowing the Burl Poplar top to show through to full effect. Aged plastic knobs and pickup covers are offset by the Pearloid pickguard for a premium look which complements the caramel hue of the neck.

In terms of playing ergonomics, the JS-450 is immediately comfortable for the modern guitarist, coming with a Modern “C”-shaped neck profile and 9.5” radius fretboard. Jet have gone to extra lengths to improve playing comfort, with an extra contour added to the lower body cutaway to ease upper-fret action, as well as a plate-less sculpted neck heel.

In terms of hardware, JS 450 features multiple upgrades over lower models in the Jet range, making it really stunning value at the price. Locking tuners facilitate easy string changes, additionally minimising string slippages during performances. The quality Wilkinson tremolo system features solid block steel saddles for outstanding stability and resonance transfer. The bone nut ensures that all vibrations from the strings are transferred to the three ceramic pickups. These are controlled via volume / tone knobs and 5-way switch layout.
