Original 1987-1988 Kramer NightSwan in blue with white polka dots finish 100% original and in near mint condition with original hardshell case.

This particular finish on the NightSwan is the holy grail to many Kramer collectors, as it was made famous by Vivian Campbell when first seen in the 1987 White Snake music video for “Here I Go Again”.  Vivian Campbell collaborated with guitar maker Buddy Blaze to deign the NightSwan which was originally called the “Shredder” prior to going into production with Kramer. Vivian’s wife is actually the one who suggested the name the NightSwan for the new design.  There have been various versions of this iconic guitar.

The initial prototypes were made by Buddy Blaze out of Warmoth parts. In later years some variations were made in Japan, and even now reissues are made by Gibson who currently owns Kramer. The first USA production models; including this one, still used parts from ESP (Japan) but were assembled in the USA. The first run of production models from 1987-1989 had several different finishes which included: lighting bolt, holoflash, aztec, black with blue polka dots and blue with white polka dots. This blue with white polka dots seems to be extremely hard to find, and this is a very clean example. It is a perfect collectors grade piece.

This guitar features a mahogany body, 3-piece laminated maple neck and an ebony fingerboard. Equipped with Seymour Duncan "Full Shred" humbucker in the bridge and "Jeff Beck" in the middle position with a very simplistic single volume knob and 3-way switch control configuration. The 24.75" scale length neck has a compound radius fingerboard, "ping pong" mother of pearl dot inlays, and narrow tall frets. An original surface mounted Floyd Rose tremolo with the identifiable flat head mounting screws is paired with the original R1 nut which is the thinnest locking nut made available by Floyd Rose at the time. Schaller tuning machines, a black dome knob and mini-switch are the finishing touches on this NightSwan.

This is the cleanest example of an original Kramer NightSwan that you will likely ever see. The guitar is all original and and in near mint condition for its age. There is a small blemish underneath the surface mounted Floyd Rose where the underside of the tremolo pushed into the body. There are also some surface scratches on the face of the gloss black headstock around the lower part of the truss rod cover area. There are some very light belt buckle marks on the rear cavity cover but not on the guitar body itself. This guitar does not have any of the neck pocket cracks which are common for guitars of this era. Comes with the original hardshell case. The case itself has several scuffs, but is intact, fully functional and all 3 latches work as they should. We will do our best to repair some of the tears in the tolex prior to shipping, but have photographed the case in the condition that we received it in.
